Case studies Utilities company Advising in connection with a high profile multi-fatality incident at its operational site. We were instructed within hours of the incident and advised on the company’s immediate response. We continue to advise on the on-going investigations by the Police and HSE. Tram operating company Providing advice following the multi-fatality incident at Sandilands in Croydon. We have advised our client on the third party investigations including those conducted by RAIB, BTP and ORR as well as at the 10 week inquest held in mid-2021. The issues raised in those investigations include our client’s approach to identifying low frequency high consequence events. Grenfell Tower Inquiry Acting for one of the core Participants to the Grenfell Tower Inquiry in relation to the collation, review, and analysis of evidence for submission to the Inquiry. Ministry of Defence Providing support in the drafting and development of a suite of health & safety clauses and related reporting templates for a key contract for a design and build project relating to one of the UK’s largest defence programmes. This was a nationally important non-contentious matter involving a highly collaborative approach drawing on expertise from lawyers in our Defence, Nuclear, and Health & Safety teams. Train operating company Providing advice following the death of one of its employees from COVID-19 and the subsequent internal and Office of Road and Rail investigations and currently advising on participation in an inquest.
