Case studies Ministry of Defence Since early 2014, we have advised the on the procurement of the Dreadnought and Astute class submarines. Dreadnought is a large and strategically significant programme in the UK defence sector, forming the replacement to the UK’s continuous at-sea nuclear deterrent (Trident). Our role has involved advising on the full suite of contracting arrangements, from the alliancing and collaboration arrangements between MOD and its suppliers to the bi-lateral contracts for both programmes. Ministry of Defence We are also advising on the naval nuclear propulsion programme supporting the negotiation, drafting and procurement of contracts with key strategic suppliers including manufacture, design, research and technology and professional services contracts. Ministry of Defence Since the late 1990s, we have advised the on the Skynet military communications satellite programme. We advised on the first outsourcing through the Skynet 5 PFI project, one of the UK’s most successful PFI projects which involved the manufacture and launch of two satellites and are currently advising on the Skynet 6 programme to appoint a replacement service provider following expiry of the PFI, a sole source contract for the supply and integration of the Skynet 6A satellite and the subsequent procurement of up to four satellites under the Enduring Capability Programme. UK Research and Innovation and the British Antarctic Survey Advising on a competition to procure an aircraft and associated support to provide the airbridge to Antarctica. Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office Advising on the flagship procurement of a dynamic purchasing system for global facilities management across its estate (including embassies, Official Residences and other properties) and the call off of an FM supplier for the Asia Pacific region.
